Job summary
As Configuration Engineer Senior Associate, you'll be a configuration subject matter specialist and primary contact to country teams. You'll define and coordinate configuration changes, to maintain product integrity, as well as transaction, management and statutory reporting.
In this role, you'll lead Configuration Engineer associates and country teams, and be expected to make independent judgments and decisions.
Responsibilities
Act as a configuration subject matter specialist to country teams. Help these teams understand and apply the global configuration and access control management process, procedures, and tools. Serve as a country configuration lead, supporting many countries
Act as the primary escalation point for functional and technical configuration issues, for the assigned countries
Help countries understand the configuration dependencies, and their impact on processing and reporting
Achieve compliance with the service level agreements (SLAs) for the country and central teams
Review the data submitted by the country configuration team, and confirm this is complete and correct
Work through the iterative process with the country configuration team, to reach the sign-off point for the data collection phase
Define key configuration milestones and track progress
Report issues and concerns to management, when configuration timelines are not met
Design and use the input tools and migration utilities, to improve configuration efficiency
Independently resolve configuration issues that impact transaction processing for a country
Analyze the cross-environment impact of configuration activity, and manage cross-environment migrations
Serve as a configuration subject matter specialist to the product development and test team
Define the configuration necessary to test product enhancements/new software releases
Address configuration change requests from the test team
Make decisions on configuration requirements, and establish direction for country and central teams
Recommend configuration changes to meet the business needs, based on clients' requirements
Classify and prioritize work activities for the team, based on the configuration assessment
Provide guidance and analytical advice, in response to requests from the country teams
Analyze configuration data, and determine its downstream impact on processing and reporting (including statutory reporting)
Independently analyze the diverse requirements of multiple countries, defining their requirements
Analyze the cross-functional impacts of changes
Coordinates the work effort between configuration modules
Train new hires
Provide guidance, direction and feedback to Configuration Engineer associates and country configuration teams
Knowledge and skills requirements
Good understanding of Financial / Management and Statutory reports
Understanding of international requirements such as Withholding, VAT, Sales Tax etc., preferable
Proficiency in MS Office products mainly Excel and Access database
Reasonable knowledge in SQL
Financial management knowledge (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or project costing)
Experience in PeopleSoft finance modules preferable
Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication and people skills. Able to work with clients
Good organizational skills
Project management experience desirable
Able to work under pressure and tight timeline / budget
Able to adapt to different competing priorities quickly
Requirements
Education
Degree in Accounting / Finance / Management preferable
Experience
Experience with PeopleSoft configuration tables, for financial applications and global configuration management processes
Global configuration implementation experience
A minimum of 4-5 years experience in PeopleSoft or related applications
Process and procedure design experience
A minimum of 5-7 years experience in functional configuration engineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
