Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for completing technical deliverables on projects assigned.
Lead engineer for technical deliverables on moderate to enterprise size Infrastructure Service Delivery or Client projects reporting directly to assigned Project Manager, or staff resource responsible for completing assigned deliverables on large scale global projects reporting directly to the Infrastructure Service Delivery Technical/Team Lead.
Responsible for producing Infrastructure Service Delivery deliverables meeting or exceeding benchmarks for quality and performance in accordance with the project timeline and budget. Responsible for maintaining effective and consistent communication within subteam, within broader team, within IE peer teams, and with the resources in other IT groups. Proactively raise issues to Team Leads when necessary.
Provides Level 4 support to Operations in the field of expertise.
Essential functions of the job:
Experienced technical knowledge in specialty area with basic knowledge of complementary infrastructures
Develop and deliver infrastructure solutions
Maintain adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
Provide support and documentation to assist in sustaining the project during the transition to production
Adhere to Infrastructure Service Delivery methodologies and Enterprise Architecture global standards
Provide feedback regarding Infrastructure Service Delivery methodologies, standards and leading practices
Identify potential points of contention for missed activities and notify project leadership of situation
Produce accurate, brief and clearly written documents tailored to audience needs and expectations
Build positive relationships with internal professionals and client personnel by demonstrating integrity and genuineness
Develop a diverse network of relationships with others that entail mutual sharing of ideas, knowledge, and resources
Clarify roles and responsibilities collaboratively with team members to improve their level of commitment and alignment with requirements
Identify and pursue opportunities for leveraging information and resources across assignments and teams
Minimize technical exposure and risk on projects
Work closely with:
Infrastructure Service Delivery Team/Group Leads to understand strategic goals/objectives and translate into actionable plans
Infrastructure Service Delivery Team/Group Leads to successfully implement, use, and monitor BSC initiatives
Infrastructure Service Delivery to build solutions as part of end-to-end projects
Operations managers to effectively and efficiently support the project during the transition phase
Requirements
Required skills and competencies:
Solid interpersonal communication and organizational skills required to operate as a contributing member of global technical teams that deliver quality services
Technical skills in designing, documenting, supporting, and implementing directory infrastructure projects
Knowledge of organizational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team
Possess an understanding of IT Services: service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organizational structure
Deep knowledge and experience in implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining FIM and/or Oracle Identity Manager
Advanced knowledge of complex, multiple domain Active Directory infrastructures, including site setup and management, architecture/topology, schemas and schema extension management, group management, group policies, user account management, management of printers and other computer objects
Engineering and implementation experience in Active Directory domain consolidation, infrastructure rationalization, and cross-domain object migration projects
Experience with O365 or other cloud-based hosting solutions. Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem models is a plus
Understanding of Kerberos and NTLM v2single sign on authentication
Advanced knowledge of public key infrastructure and certificates/certificate management and usage
Experience with group management tools and document encryption tools are a plus
Intermediate scripting skills, including Visual Basic and Java or C++. Powershell is a plus
Self-starter with strong organizational skills, strong sense of teamwork, and attention to detail
Understanding of Windows 2008 server operating system basics
Basic understanding of networking, including DNS, WINS, firewalls, DMZ, public and private networks, and VPNs
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
Ability to work with virtual teams spanning multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones
Fluent spoken and written English
Additional desirable skills and competencies:
Application server awareness, such as Websphere and/or Weblogic or Apache
Experience with implementing and supporting Siteminder Web Access Management, including API's
Experience with implementing and supporting Federation technologies, including Siteminder Federation or other SAML-based products
Ability to troubleshoot DNS issues and/or familiarity with C# and/or object-oriented programming are also plusesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
