Summary:
Infrastructure Build Services Manager is responsible for ensuring capacity availability in data centers by monitoring storage, blade, virtual, network infrastructures. The candidate will establish appropriate workflows, documentation and SLAs related to the delivery of data center infrastructure This role will establish a team focused on service delivery with a focus on speed to market, quality and continuous improvement. The candidate will track all aspects of the infrastructure build process; work closely with peers within and across the enterprise to identify opportunities to decrease delivery times. The ideal candidate is highly analytical with excellent problem solving skills, exhibits a strong understanding of physical and virtual servers environments, storage and networking technologies. We are seeking a dynamic individual who adapts quickly and can overcome the challenges that arise in today's rapidly changing technology environment.
Essential Functions:
Lead a team responsible for delivery of data center infrastructure including servers, storage and network equipment
Configure local and SAN storage in support of server deployments
Configure server backups and validate backups are enabled in support of server deployments
Coordinate data center racking and configuration of server, storage and network hardware to ensure adequate capacity for project requirements
Identify and execute upon opportunities where infrastructure components can be brought online rapidly to support project demand.
Establish and meet or exceed SLAs for server and environment deliverables, review and adjust annually to continuously reduce delivery time
Ensure global consistency and enforcement of established technology standards.
Design and mature process flow and documentation to improve delivery of requests.
Interface with Engineering leads to identify tools to improve delivery and quality of infrastructure components
Analytical and Decision Making
Responsibilities:
Manage and develop the team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching and training
Understand and resolve issues and remove impediments that impact a team member's ability to perform to his/her optimal best
Serve as decision maker for technical issues and the point person for escalations
Manage the resources necessary to support and execute all phases of multiple project life cycles
Additional Job Functions:
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and be able to prioritize assignments
Ability to work and communicate with a diverse range of people across teams, regions and organizations
Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure
Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Strong knowledge of facility technologies (HVAC, power distribution, generated back-up power, rack management & DC cable plant)
Strong communication and relationship development skills required
Demonstrated project management skills necessary; knowledge of ITIL and/or service delivery best practices a plus
Attention to detail as well as superior organizational and prioritization skills required
Ability to understand business strategies and relate them to technology initiatives required
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple teams/users to identify needs as well as develop and influence processes and process improvements required
Displays willingness to accept responsibility, display initiative, good judgment and a positive attitude
Appropriate blend of sense of urgency, strong results orientation, and delivery focus
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of five years of supervisory experience with data center technology in a support or related technical role required
Experience with various aspects of hosting center technology infrastructure management and operations
Experience in running larger-scale data centers
Education:
A degree in Computer Science/Management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
ITIL Certification or PMP a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
